Drugs, Alcohol & Smoking: Seabeck Christian Family Camp allows the consumption of alcohol for those of legal age (21), provided it is used per the guidelines set forth in this policy. Illegal drugs and paraphernalia are not allowed. Smoking of marijuana is not allowed on the conference grounds due to state and conference grounds restrictions. As a Christian Family Camp, we ask that those possessing alcohol take full responsibility for its appropriate consumption and that it be taken in moderation. Please be sensitive to the fact that families come to our camp for safe, nurturing experiences that glorify God and encourage spiritual growth and that there very likely are families attending where alcohol usage is not allowed due to personal choices or as a result of historical chemical dependence and abuse.
Alcohol is permitted only in a camper’s room and enclosed common areas in housing units, and only in moderation. Any camper who violates this policy will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including expulsion from camp. Campers are expected to immediately report violations of this policy to the deans or any adult that they trust. Campers can rely on staff to promptly investigate each complaint in a thorough and confidential manner.
Persons of legal age for smoking and drinking are reminded that young campers view them as role models. They are encouraged to restrict their smoking and drinking behavior during camp. It is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to smoke in the state of Washington. No smoking, including smoking of marijuana, is allowed in buildings or in the woods by anyone.
Childcare: is available for small children in their rooms during the evening program. This is provided by camp youth for a small fee. Please contact (TBA) if you are a youth who is interested in baby sitting or if you are in need of childcare.
Host Families are necessary for all campers age 18 and under.
